Nexaweb’s Enterprise Web Suite is selected to Modernize Thermal Power Equipment Management System

Burlington, Mass. – April 1, 2009 – Nexaweb Technologies, Inc. today announced that Chubu Electric Power Company Ltd (TSN.JPN: 9502) has selected to modernize their Thermal Power Equipment Management System using Nexaweb’s Enterprise Web Suite. Headquartered in Nagoya City, Japan, Chubu Electric Power ranks third among Japan's largest electric power companies in power generation capacity, electric energy sold, operating revenues, and total assets.

Chubu Electric Power Company’s (CEPCO) Thermal Power Equipment Management System was developed to support the management and maintenance of ten thermal power facilities in Japan’s Chubu region. Based on the original application’s success, CEPCO realized it had an opportunity to gain greater return on its facilities and equipment by moving the application to the Web and including an operational monitoring component to help maximize machine efficiency and production.

In combination with partners Fujitsu Limited and Chuden CTI Inc., a subsidiary system developer for CEPCO, Nexaweb offered a solution that met the power company’s requirements for a data-intensive web application that delivered a rich user experience with low-latency transaction processing and centralized server management capabilities.

“One of our key goals for bringing the Thermal Power Equipment Management System to the Web was to create a communications and management platform for the future,” said Takashi Sato, section chief of technological systems group, Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc. “Nexaweb offers us what HTML and JavaScript could not, a workflow and processing application that meets our complex requirements. We are convinced that our new application will reduce operational costs and drive greater returns from our machine investments.”

“Stability and efficiency are of the utmost importance to Chubu Electric Power Co.,” said Koji Oka, Energy System Division, Fujitsu Ltd. “Nexaweb solution offers CEPCO both -- providing a mission-critical application platform that supports continued growth and enhancement while also delivering analytical and operational data that targets maximum equipment performance. We look forward to working with Nexaweb on future projects.”
