The Nexaweb Reference Framework is a set of application constructs that accelerates the process of modernizing business applications and bringing them to the Web.

The framework's design allows application teams to take a top-down approach to application modernization, meaning they can focus on innovation at the business logic, workflow, and user-interface levels.

Its constructs greatly simplify the use of a JavaEE and SOA middle-tier, and similar to SOA, the framework de-couples application business logic from middle-tier technologies. This allows IT professionals to view application assets as components that can be developed and maintained separate from data and infrastructure elements of an application and its parent portfolio. This approach has proven to reduce the time and costs required to transform Sybase PowerBuilder, Microsoft Visual Basic, Oracle Forms and other 3GL/4GL-based applications by as much as 67% in early customer implementations.

The Nexaweb Reference Framework is pre-configured with a target architecture based on JavaEE version 1.4 and the Spring Framework for managing business logic objects and data integration. It supports pluggable Object Relational Mapping technologies including Struts, iBATIS and Hibernate.

Application Configuration

The application configuration file is an XML file that the reference framework uses to configure; navigation, screens, action, look and feel and layout.

Concentrate on Screen Building

Application developers concentrate building just the screens that go into their application instead of the application's chrome.

Standard Navigation System

Users access screens of the application through the navigation system that can any of the following; traditional drop down menus, popup menu as show or a side bar.

Screens as Tabs

The application can be easily configured through the configuration file to display screens as either tab or windows.
