| Aflac Japan Deploys IPCS with Nexaweb Aflac Japan Deploys Insurance Premium Calculation System Using the Nexaweb Enterprise Web 2.0 PlatformComposite Application Increases Productivity and User Satisfaction While Decreasing Costs; Aflac Japan Enjoys Faster Time to Market & Application Business AdvantageBurlington, MA & Tokyo, Japan - May 9, 2007 - Nexaweb Technologies, Inc., delivering Richer, Thinner, Faster Enterprise Applications over the Web, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Nexaweb Japan K.K. has deployed an Insurance Premium Calculation System (IPCS) that modernizes multiple legacy applications into a single Uniform Web-based Nexaweb application for Aflac Japan. Aflac Japan is the leading life insurance company in the Japanese market, insuring one in four Japanese households, and is represented by 18,000 agents making it the country’s largest foreign insurer in terms of premium income. Using Nexaweb’s Enterprise Web 2.0 (EW2.0) Platform, Aflac Japan has deployed a comprehensive Web-based IPCS application that combines legacy inquiry, Internet-mediated and stand-alone applications. The Insurance Premium Calculation System (IPCS) runs in any client environment, including desktops in the office, mobile and occasionally disconnected devices with Internet connectivity. The new Nexaweb-based application delivers a rich user interface that functions like a client/server application with asynchronous data delivery and fast keyboard navigation. The result is an efficient, easy-to-use application that increases agent productivity and reduces the risks associated with insurance premium calculations. Maintenance for the newly integrated application is also more efficient, which means significant cost and time reductions as compared to maintaining the previously disparate applications. “This strategic application has allowed us to decrease both IT and administrative costs while increasing ROI,” said Mr.Takahashi, Net IT Group at Aflac Japan. “Before deploying Nexaweb’s EW 2.0 solution, we had to develop and maintain both Web-based and stand-alone applications simultaneously. And, because there was no single application to work with, users had to toggle between various applications when attempting to complete a task. This compromised time, efficiency, quality assurance and budgetary control. With Nexaweb, our maintenance and deployment costs have decreased and our agents are more productive and can focus on meeting customers’ needs.” “Today, Japan is at the forefront of deploying Enterprise Web 2.0 solutions,” said Coach Wei, CTO at Nexaweb. “Migrating mission critical applications to Web-based solutions, ensures an increase in user productivity and a decrease in IT challenges and costs. We are very excited to meet this demand with Nexaweb’s EW2.0 Platform and our Japanese subsidiary, Nexaweb Japan K.K. Enterprise Web 2.0 breaks through the limitations of today's Web technologies and delivers rich, robust and secure enterprise-class web applications that are easy to use and simple to maintain.” About Aflac Japan After three decades and through many significant changes in the Japanese economy, Aflac Japan continues to navigate a secure course and steadily grow its business.
