Coach Wei, Chairman of the Board

Coach combines in-depth IT industry expertise with extensive education and research experience at MIT to drive technology innovation and business direction for Nexaweb. He founded Nexaweb in 2000 and served as CEO until summer 2003. Before founding Nexaweb, Coach architected and designed enterprise software for managing storage networks at EMC Corporation. As a graduate researcher at MIT, Coach developed software and hardware systems for non-destructive evaluation as well as signal/image processing algorithms. Coach was a finalist in the 1999 MIT $50K entrepreneurship competition and holds several U.S. patents. An accomplished writer and speaker, Coach has published numerous articles on topics including: AJAX, J2EE and .NET, RIA development, XML, signal/image processing, composite materials and ultrasonic imaging. He is a frequent speaker at top industry events, such as JavaOne and Web Services Edge. Coach holds an MS in information technology from MIT and maintains a blog at http://www.coachwei.com.

Christian Heidelberger, CEO

Chris, who joined Nexaweb in February 2006, brings more than 20 years of general management experience in enterprise software. As CEO and president of ChannelWave Software, Chris led the company from its inception. He guided the company through $63M of venture capital funding and several acquisitions before selling the company to Click Commerce in February 2005. Prior to ChannelWave, Chris served as Vice President and General Manager of Software House, a subsidiary of the security company, Sensormatic Electronics Corp. (TYCO), where he led the growth of the company from $15 million to $40 million in annual revenue in four years. Most recently, Chris was an executive coach and consultant to several local startup companies. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Chris serves on a number of tech advisory boards. He is a frequent speaker and panelist on subjects ranging from leadership in high-growth companies to building sales and marketing channels for scale.

Mike Shanahan, Director

Mike is Managing Director and General Partner at Egan-Managed Capital. Mike co-founded Egan-Managed Capital in 1997, bringing with him more than two decades of experience in finance and early stage venture investing. Mike serves on the boards of Network Intelligence, Softrax Corporation, Top Layer Networks and Intellivid. He is also a former board member of Terascape Software, Lineo, Network Engines, AllVertical, Conjoin, Monetrics and Sandy Bay Networks. Prior to starting Egan-Managed Capital, Mike worked at Eastech Management Company, a New England-focused early stage technology venture firm. During his 15-year tenure there, he developed a portfolio of 34 companies, and also served as a director and filled interim management roles in several Eastech portfolio companies. Before joining Eastech, he worked in corporate finance and venture capital at Paine Webber and at Banker’s Trust Company. Mike holds an AB in economics from Holy Cross College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Rich Levandov, Director

Rich is a general partner at Masthead Venture Partners. Rich joined Masthead in 2001 to launch their $165M fund. He currently serves as a director of Lumeria and Shoutmail, and previously served on the boards of Valent (sold to Lycos), Sombasa Media (acquired by About.com) and Art Technology Group, as well as numerous other technology startups. Prior to joining Masthead, Rich was an affiliate venture partner with SOFTBANK Technology Ventures, sourcing and leading its investments in Art Technology Group (now public) and Personalogic (later sold to America Online). Concurrently, he was co-founder and acting president of OLiVR, a streaming media technology start-up ultimately bought by Live Picture. Additional positions have included vice president of business development at America Online and co-founder/vice president of Phoenix Technologies, a PC systems software company that went public in 1988.
